Hello All,
My DXL editor does not show errors in the output section. It used, but all of sudden it started to go to a log file in some folder. How it happened I don;t know. I looked in Registry etc but could not find anything.
How can I set it back so that it show errors in dxl editor window.
Regards
Jester

Not done much with "logfile", but check the following:
-
Run this DXL:
-
print "logfile registry: \t" (getenv("logfile")) "\n"
-
print "logfile command line:\t" (getenv("DOORSLOGFILE")) "\n"
-
if you get a "registry" hit then you have logfile in the registry.
-
if you get only a "command line" hit then you have a "-logfile <NameFile.log>" command line switch on your DOORS shortcut
You can erase the Registry value by editing the registry (not advised), or running this:

Thank you Louie,
I got hit fot both registry and commandline. But When I reset the registry and restarted DOORS it worked. It is weired though. I searched for logfile (error.log) in registry and it did not show anything last time I searched for it. But today it found it in HK user hive.
Thanks much.

You say there was no "logfile" string value but now there is?
-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Sofware\Telelogic\DOORS\9.3\Config
It seems unlikely that a *.reg file was run, which suggests to me that some DXL ran that did this:
-
setenv("logfile", "error.log")
Maybe there is some rouge trigger, but more likely some layout or attr-DXL.
Here is one of the worst scripts I ever wrote which may help you find it.

At least it was not in the obivous place. In win7 reg. I found it here.
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-165822833-1632583300-1373009395-300241\Software\Telelogic\DOORS\9.3\Config
I would never have gone to this location to look for it. May be I missed out on searching on computer level and searched only in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER / MACHINE.
So the take away here is always search (make sure root is selected) from top/root.
